TWO SIX SEVEN

RESTAURANT & BAR

MENU & SOCIAL MEDIA POSTERS

Two Six Seven (267) needed its menus upgraded, to something which embodied the contemporary, lively, and distinctly African vibe of the restaurant and bar. Taking inspiration from the vibrant colors of the interior design, and textures from the rustic finishes, I designed a solution that also solved a costing challenge. Using affordable, accessible craft paper, the menus can be re-printed easily each time there is a price increase or menu change.

267 is a successful restaurant and thriving bar, based in Gaberone, Botswana. The target market was very specific, with a request of honing in on an unmistakable African tone and style. I was also faced with the challenge of fitting a large number of dishes and drinks into a digestible format. The outcome is a concertina folded A3 page (for the Main Menu), folded into 4 and double-sided.

The menus have also been adapted into a mobile format, for ease of use when accessed through social media or online.

I chose to add food items with a hand-drawn, sketchy nature, bringing in a playful element. The drawings overlap the text in some places, adding depth and texture to the design.

The Bottle Service Menu is an A4, folded once down the middle to mimic the appearance of the Main Menu. The faces of the menus are now a consistent size, which makes them look more cohesive as a pair. The cover of the Main Menu is inspired by 267’s eye-catching wall art. The Bottle Service Menu’s cover shows the form of a Snake Plant, which the venue is well known for.

With the goal of adding a contemporary look and feel to their predominantly lifestyle photographic-based Instagram feed, I have also designed social media posters for 267’s weekly DJ events. Namely, Corona Kogorona Fridays, and See You Saturdays. The posters feature favorite local DJs and sometimes international acts, which aim to advertise these events to 267’s audience, hosted every weekend.
