AMY SMITH
Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, I am a passionate graphic designer with a love for both the intricate and the bold, the minimal and the expressive. My work is shaped by my surroundings—Cape Town’s vibrant creative energy, the diverse cultures I’ve encountered while traveling, and the simple, everyday moments that spark inspiration.
Over the years, I’ve explored various facets of design, from in-house branding and marketing to agency work, advertising, website design, and even illustrating children’s books, ranging from local businesses to international clients. These experiences have given me a well-rounded skill set and a deep appreciation for design as both a storytelling tool and a problem-solving discipline. I’m constantly expanding my expertise, keeping up with AI-driven innovations, and currently teaching myself animation in Adobe After Effects.
Now, as I grow my freelance career, I seek opportunities that truly resonate with me—projects that energize me creatively and allow me to craft meaningful, functional solutions through design, creativity, and innovation.

Oh, and the green-eyed critter you see to the left is my dæmon, Periwinkle. Who offers “emotional support” (stares at me with unceasing neutrality).
Follow me on my studio Instagram, it's where the design happens when I feel like it. It’s a little less formal than this, and I’m trying to share bits and bobs more often.
Follow me on my personal Instagram, if you would like to keep up with almost-daily procrastination station, circa 2014. You have my permission to scroll down as far as you like.
