VERMAAKLIKHEID MAP

I illustrated some of the critters that make up the East Coast beauty of Vermaaklikheid. Steps 1-5 show our holiday plans and the unique locations we explored, from Sunstroke Corner to the infamous (inbred?) River People, this little map helped hype us up for an unforgettable New Year’s Eve adventure.

FAMILY PORTRAIT

Mega cheesy little anniversary drawing for my love, and our furry friend (and key family member) Periwinkle.

BUNS BAKERY PATTERN & MERCHANDISE

A beloved local bakery commissioned me to bring their delicious baked treats to life through playful graphic illustrations. Featuring some of Buns Bakery’s favourite products alongside iconic bakery items, the pattern complements the brand’s logo and sugary-sweet colour palette.

The design was developed into a range of in-store merchandise—from stickers and notebooks to takeaway coffee cups, and even a cheeky cupcake titty t-shirt!

SCENIC WALLPAPER

A Canadian honey brand approached me to create a moving wallpaper that captured the picturesque landscape surrounding their beehives. Using a blend of collage and overlaid illustration—and with the help of an animator and subtle parallaxing—I brought the scene to life, featuring the Rocky Mountains, blooming fireweed flora, a charming grazing moose, and numerous buzzing bees.

COMMUTING GRAFTERS

This campaign was created for Between 10 and 5, a media agency focused on capturing and reporting creative trends. GRAFT HUB aims to spotlight career opportunities in the creative industry.

We wanted to reflect the energy and diversity of the sector by capturing a snapshot of different kinds of people on their way to work — each with their own vibe. From posture to clothing and expression, each commuter represents a unique approach to navigating the creative grind.

SICILY HOLIDAY SKETCH

As a thank-you gift to the Cloete family, I illustrated all of us in our element — with details and inside jokes from the holiday.

From cannolis to jellyfish stings, board games to Bavarias, I tried to include everything that made our island-hopping adventure so special. A sketch hardly repays such a generous trip, but hopefully it captures a little of the joy we shared.

CREATIVE WOMEN MONTH CAMPAIGN

A celebration of women in the creative industry, this Between 10 and 5 initiative featured a series of digital events, activations, and thought-provoking discussions. More than just a spotlight on achievements, it aimed to create space for honest conversations around the challenges women face in creative fields.

By highlighting diverse voices and sharing real experiences, the campaign sought to uplift, support, and empower — fostering a sense of community, visibility, and progress for women across the creative landscape. My approach to the campaign’s identity centered around creating vibrant, distinctive silhouettes that aimed to represent and include female-identifying individuals of all shapes and forms. Each figure was drawn to celebrate uniqueness, diversity, and the strength found in individuality, reinforcing the campaign’s message of inclusivity and empowerment.

HONEST CHOCOLATE PACKAGING CONCEPT

One of the most enjoyable aspects of this creative exercise was designing and illustrating a range of characters. From wide-eyed children filled with wonder to a quirky elderly woman, each figure tells a unique story through their expression. These individual personalities helped shape the emotional landscape of the piece, bringing warmth, humour, and a touch of melancholy. The final result is a quirky design with a whimsical and dreamlike atmosphere that invites viewers to interpret each soul’s journey in their own way.
The prompt for this name and flavour of chocolate was “Grains of Paradise”.

Using a combination of acrylic and watercolour, I delved into the imaginative concept of souls departing Earth and ascending toward heaven in vibrant hot air balloons. This surreal journey became a playful metaphor for transition, freedom, and the unknown.
